Smog and Mirrors

So we turned our back on the most impressive piece of environmental regulation of all time and replaced it with a non binding, useless piece of garbage. For what? To make it seems like we're trying? We're not. Why would a bunch of oil tycoons want to thwart their own businesses? They wouldn't. We will not make ANY progress as a nation with regard to the environment until the name "Bush" is long forgotten. It's sad, but true.

Bible Study Time

I came across this when I was doing some research on Bible passages (yes, we "lefties" read the Bible too). It is an extraordinarily handy tool for looking up whole passages, chapters, and key words -even through different versions of the bible, even in different languages. I find the Bible to be rather dry reading and this cuts right to the chase. It can be used to fire back at the Evangelical right when they use the Bible to justify outrageous things.

Letter to the Red States

I just came across this "letter" today even though it is now several months old. The woman intones pretty well what many blue-staters feel. I am a blue-stater and agree with her mostly. Mostly.

While there's no specifc thoughts in there I feel are wrong, I think it is a mistake to further divide and alienate various American citizens. For good or bad, we're all in this shit storm together and no one is going to emerge smelling like roses.
